Speakers: Abhishek Singh, Emma María Aparici Vázquez de Parga, Federico Pinedo, Henrik Harboe, Navid HanifModerator: Andreas Schaal
Theme: GLOBAL GOVERNANCE
As South Africa completes the first cycle of G20 Presidencies, this panel will bring together G20 Sherpas and Sous Sherpas to reflect on the G20’s role as the world’s premier forum for international economic co-operation in an increasingly fragmented and complex international context. The discussion will focus on the G20’s achievements and key initiatives since its elevation to a Leaders’-level forum in 2008, as well as on gaps and challenges it has faced over the years. Reflections by panelists will cover G20 working methods, representativeness, and thematic priorities, to identify potential areas of reform to ensure the G20 remains fit-for-purpose under its next cycle of Presidencies.
